Hooks & Needles

Oct 21

Most of my creative energy has been directed to knitting & crochet lately. I have a few works in progress (WIP).

I’m knitting a hooded cape for my granddaughter for Christmas. The pattern is the Bairn Cape  by Heidi May at The Velvet Acorn on Etsy.   I love it!  It’s knitting up very easily. Which is good for a relative beginner like me. I’m using Katia Azteca yarn, a 50/50 blend of wool and acrylic.

On the crochet front, I am making a shawl for a good friend. I’m using My Melody yarn from Wolltraum in Wonderland. It’s so pretty and soft. Starts out a beautiful blue and gradually goes to gray then purple. The pattern is the Virus Shawl. There is a video series on YouTube, and a chart is available here.  It’s really pretty easy.  There are four different rows that you repeat until it is the size you want

I had never heard of this yarn before joining a crochet group on Facebook. The Official CCC Social Group has been such an inspiration. And they are a great group of people from all over the world.

So what are you working on?  Sewing?  Knitting?  Scrapbooking?  Other?  All of the above?
